As a female who doesn't wear makeup and has been overweight in my past, I am appalled by the fashion/celebrity industry in creating fake standards for girls/women. I am all for being healthy and fit, but I don't think we all have to look like Barbie Dolls in order to feel beautiful and exude confidence. It's a never-ending shame cycle when we are bombarded by visuals/photos that are just not real. Over the years, like so many people, the fad/trend diets have led me to eating disorders and with my addictive/obsessive type of personality in order to appeal to those standards. The first is a picture of Jennifer Lawrence in which she is looking very thin compared her usual outwardly spoken curvier proud body. The second picture is of a recent George Clooney looking ever so young. As I am nearly in my 40s, I dislike the wrinkle eliminator aspects that promote plastic surgery like botox. I am all for healthy skin, but this is plastic and unreal. I want to age with grace and not worry about the constant need to look a certain way.
Star Wars is an epic film saga that was ahead of its time when the first trilogy came out. Since photoshop nor digital graphics did not exist back then, so it was done in hand-made miniatures. Wes Anderson uses similar techniques in his films as well. However, with the rise of digital editing and computer graphics/animation, film and art has changed drastically to create more innovative worlds without any limitation. There are pros and cons to both techniques as miniatures have such a real feel to them, in my opinion. When the second trilogy of Star Wars came out, I did not like all the computer animated scenes because it felt so fake and different from the originals. However, digital editing quality has gotten better and one can barely tell the difference between what is "real" and "computer made".
To answer the question proposed, photoshop can now create any world you want and bring your own life into the world of sci fi like Star Wars. So many interesting, fun, creative, and weird portrayals of Star Wars characters and scenes that can be adapted to other characters, faces, and even yourself. Attached is an example of a Star Wars scene with a random individual. The other photo is Bill Murray's face on Yoda.
