Artist Statement: I must say I am proud to finally understand long shuttering techniques. Using a tripod is challenging for me, but I was patient with it. Long shutter gives such a tranquil and peaceful setting - it's almost like a 3D effect.
For the short shutter, I captured local wildlife in action and clouds for the moment. I was surprised I caught the Sandpiper after it snagged a tiny fish. As for the experimental, taking night time photos is still a beginners journey for me, but I hope to take advantage of it when I am in a warmer climate. Moving the camera around with a longer shutter could be a fun abstract project as I get more comfortable with it. All in all, with the Christmas Festivities of Light (ceremony in Port Townsend), I feel I captured that moment: temporary, blinding colors that has the potential to bring chaotic joy. The meaning of Christmas often alludes me; I love the Christmas carols, but not the commercialism.
