Multiple Focal Points
Camera Raw - Painting with Light
Analysis
This week's assignment was a little challenging at first as I was not inspired by multiple viewpoints. Editing I can do, but it's the initial raw shot that I had a little struggle at first. I must say though, my editing is not perfect. I would go back and perfect the painting with light. I think I was just trying to get the basics down, not so much the extreme details (which are important).
I took some inspiration from my trip on a whale watching tour since I was able to get out of my own head and just watch people. I enjoy taking pictures of people watching or looking, without them knowing I am. Stealth mode! I guess it's my secret desire to be an investigative journalist. I am a great observer. I am noticing when the wrong lighting is present, that's a good start.
Right now, I still take photographs that are playful in mood, I think. My brain usually works in serious mode, so it's nice to take time and just be silly. As I continue with this craft, I want to have more intention with my photos, which is where the real artistry starts. I'd like to use myself as a muse/model, similar to Frida Kahlo, other than my daughter. It's tough taking pictures of yourself.
