Time Lapse (Week 7)
This time lapse is watching on full day of sun in San Felipe, Baja Mexico. The sunrise and sunset are shot 30 minutes apart with the other lot of images are shot an hour apart.
Exposure Bracketing/HDR & Contrasts (Week 6)
HDR Practice
The Studio Photo shoot for this week was PAPER. The texture is amazing to view through the tonal perspective of lights and darks especially for HDR practice like this, although I didn't use a tripod and most of the shots would not align well. I do not have sturdy hands just yet. I have several other shots waiting to edit until I figure out how to use the HDR better with this nonaligned images.
Hence, I was more experimental with this first set of compositions particularly with some AI generation of backgrounds. Besides playing around with the black and white contrast of colors, I explored blending with various modes to see what could look interesting.
My feelings for this week felt edgy due to the actual feeling of paper as the tearing and crumpling sounds of making the dresses still ring in my head. The hues felt more cold in temperature, if they were not strongly contrasted with B&W.
HDR without a tripod is a skill I will definitely practice more with. But I would also like to utilize a tripod so it is predictable.

Color & Tonal Contrasts
This second photo shoot was taken with my brother and daughter. Portrait shots were at my home and other location shots at Fort Worden from 2:30-4pm. This photo shoot is quite vibrant and saturated compared to the B/W above.
In these images, I wanted more saturation and color for the fun and adventurous mood I experienced with my family for my daughter's 6th Birthday Celebration. We are a colorful family indeed.

Artificial Lighting (Week 5)
I used photoshoots from this week and last to deepen my understanding of Studio Artificial Lighting, which I am finally understanding the techniques and camera settings. I have had my ISO on automatic for the past year, so I had previously been confused about why my photos were often turning out over exposed; it was because my ISO setting had a mind of it's own and wasn't using the setting I had wanted. Now, I have to make sure to get the shutter speed correct as with Manual mode, I was getting a lot of blurred shots. Practice, practice, practice.
I really enjoy the integration of emotions and post processing enhancements to represent various moods; it truly adds an incredible element to an image.

Power of Color
After googling a little bit for photographers who use color to tell their stories, I came across this amazing Fine Art Photographer, Michael Zahornacky. The diversity of his photographs, from portraits to repetitive editing of outdoor scapes, I feel a plethora of various messages and feelings conveyed through his images. His portraits utilize both an overall muted palette and high saturation or contrasting tones, which allows him to focus on the overall color mood of subtle oranges, greens, browns, reds with smokey enhancements. or vibrant personal statements of bright hues like the porcelain blue and white photo. There is so much diversity yet unifying techniques in his portfolio, I am fascinated by this artist's skill. With only a few props and items concentrated within each image that tell stories of surrealism, he manages to engage the audience with emotions of the changing scapes of colors: they can be dreamy, sad, melancholic, abrupt, mesmerizing, heartfelt, transformational and seasonal.
Light Variations (Week 4)
My first big shoot outdoors in a while. I was super fortunate to get sunshine in the afternoon. These were taken from 12pm-5pm at Fort Worden State Park. My settings are from f3.5-5.6 lens.
